Back several years ago when Union Pacific steam locomotive 844 pulled the Cheyenne Frontier Days Denver Post special from Denver to Cheyenne the Union Pacific Railroad would park the 844 at Denver’s Union Station. This was before the modernization of Union Station in Denver Colorado. On this occasion
It was late in the afternoon when I was walking around the locomotive getting my pictures when I noticed that the colors from the armored yellow passenger cars were reflecting onto the drive wheels of
Union Pacific steam locomotive 844. The reflecting colors lasted for quite sometime resulting in some fantastic photos.
This photo called Big Wheels was my favorite photographs that I took on this colorful occasion.
Union Pacific no longer parks 844 at the station and the next year after I took this, they parked whole
train on one track instead of the passenger cars next to 844
When you see that shot get it because it might not happen again.
