Union Pacific Railroad Steam

Steam locomotives 844, 3985 and Big Boy 4014 are all based in Cheyenne at the Union Pacific Steam shops in Cheyenne Wyoming. Locomotive 844 is one of the only steam engines in the country that has never been retired since being built in the late 1940s. Union Pacific 844 is usually the road engine that pulls the the Denver Post Cheyenne Frontier Days train from Denver to Cheyenne every year in July.
